Hi everyone! Tara here from Through Hazel Eyes. I’m so excited to be a part of LIVE Giveaways. I will be sharing with you weekly tips, tricks and knowledge on all thing beauty for you. This week we’re going to start with what the sun really does to your skin. If you have any questions at all or would like to see an article on anything in particular do not hesitate to email me tara@throughhazeleyesblog.com.
Being a Cosmetologist, Esthetician is part of my job description. An Esthetician specializes in the study of skin care. You know what that means? I’ve seen skin, faces in particular under powerful microscopes with florescent lighting helping to see my way. I cannot tell you how scary that can actually be. So scary in fact, that even though I love being tan (don’t we all?) I haven’t left the house since without a barrier of some kind between my skin and the sun. Even if it just SPF 15. I couldn’t stand to post these photos on here, but I urge you to scroll through these to see what some true sun damage looks like.
Skin cancer is on the rise and one of the highest components is the sun. Too much sun exposure can also cause excessive freckles, wrinkles, age spots and more. Sure there are treatments, but they are expensive and why spend the money when you can hopefully prevent the damage now!
An easy way to get that barrier on is by using make-up (if you wear make-up) or your daily moisturizer with an SPF already in the formula. I don’t wear much make-up in the summer, so my moisturizer include an SPF of 15. If I’m going out for a while or heading to the beach I put on at least 30 SPF and apply at least an SPF of 50 on my children.
In honor of protecting your skin I have a fun giveaway for you today! I have a prize package from Neutrogena including Kids Sunblock Mist spray SPF 70+, Pure and Free Baby Sunblock Stick SPF 60+ with Purescreen (perfect for the diaper bag), and Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50-85.

I’m in awe over my SnapTotes bag that I previously posted about! I couldn’t believe my eyes and it’s even more gorgeous than I had anticipated. I am already sentimentally tied to this bag that you won’t catch me without my new treasure! One thing that surprised me about the bag was that it was much larger than I had pictured it from the SnapTotes website, which is a fantastic thing if you’re a mom of four like I am who loves to pack everything including the kitchen sink with her wherever she goes. Trust me, I’m not complaining a bit and I just love the classy, stylish look of the bag with the ones closest to my heart adorned on it!
As promised, I’m here to show it off! I was going to do a surprise video and open it live on camera, but I couldn’t wait to get my hands on my purse! Be sure to watch this video clip so you can share in my excitement with me:
